<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of performing image transformation that does not bring about much image degradation by collectively performing gradation conversion and density conversion even when no mass memory or a fast computing element are provided. SOLUTION: A plurality of kinds of interpolation patterns are prepared. The number of pixels and the gradation of the interpolation patterns are matched to the contents of gradation conversion and density conversion. One of the interpolation patterns is selected in accordance with the density distributions of a pixel P under consideration in an original image and its peripheral pixelsα,β,γ,δ,ε,ζ,ηandθ. When doubling resolution with respect to both horizontal and vertical directions and also binarizing the gradation, the binarized interpolation pattern of 2×2 pixels is prepared.</p> |
