<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector with a contact protection function with which end parts of both connecting terminals can be protected by preventing deterioration and breakage of the connecting terminal end parts that are connected with each other. SOLUTION: A dummy terminal 23 connected with a dummy wiring 28 is installed in the male connector housing 16, and a spring 20 for arc discharge is installed in the female connector housing 14, and also prior to the contact between the male connecting terminal 15 and the female connecting terminal 17 with each other, the dummy terminal 23 and the spring 20 for arc discharge come into a contact when the female connector housing 14 and the male connector housing 16 fit together, and at the release of the fitting between the female connector housing 14 and the male connector housing 16, the contact is released after the release of the contact between the male connecting terminal 15 and the female connecting terminal 17 with each other. Therefore, by generating arc discharge through the contact between the spring 20 for arc discharge and the dummy terminal 23 connected to the dummy wiring 28 prior to the contact between a contact projection 19 and a contact spring 25, the original contact part is prevented from being deteriorated and damaged by the arc discharge.</p> |
