PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rechargeable battery and a rechargeable battery pack including a charger controller, which can prevent improper charging, without having to control with a processor with a power-on reset function. SOLUTION: A control circuit is formed with a gate control circuit in place of a processor for program operation and a charging acknowledgment circuit for turning on a switch circuit by receiving a signal from the outside of a rechargeable battery is provided to such switch circuit, which is turned off when the voltage is lower than the operating voltage of the gate control circuit. Thereby, it is no longer required to execute the power-on reset processing and improper charging can be prevented by impeding over-charging and over- discharging. Accordingly, a part for storing the record information of application environment obtained with various sensors can be isolated from the charging discharging control circuit, and thereby the environment record information is protected from erasure.
