PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver for mobile body that can prevent errors in switching timing and undesirable switching to a channel, whose signal quality is deteriorated due to multi-path possibly caused in an automatic channel switching system at a border of broadcast areas. SOLUTION: When a 1st reception system 3 detects entry to a broadcast area border, on the basis of navigation information (a) obtained during reception, a 2nd reception system 3' selects a channel of the same sequence as that of a received channel. A microcomputer 4 receives signal quality data c, c' from Viterbi decoders 34, 34' of the 1st and 2nd reception systems 3, 3' and compares the signal quality of both the reception systems, to switch the active reception signal system from the 1st reception system 3 into the 2nd reception system 3', when the signal quality of the channel in a succeeding broadcast area is higher than the signal quality of the channel in the current broadcast area.
