PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To aim at miniaturization, thinning and weight-reduction of the whole rotary switch by simplification and space reduction of circuit patterns. SOLUTION: The rotary switch 1 comprises a case 6, a circuit board 3 accommodated and fixed in the case 6, a cam 2 installed to be movable and rotative between the circuit board 3 and the case 6, a rotating axis 4 provided in the center of the cam 2 to rotate together with the rotating cam 2, and an operating knob 5 attached to the rotating axis 4 to transmit the revolving operation. A plural number of switches 7 are mounted on the circuit board 3, and the rotating axis 4 and cam 2 rotate following the rotating operation of the operating knob 5. Using this rotation, the tip ends of the ribs 2d provided on the bottom surface of the cam 2 push the switches 7 to be on and off. The combination of switching-on and -off by a plural number of the switches 7 gives rise to a plural number of code signals.
