HYDRAULICALLY BALANCED FULLY THERMALLY COUPLED SYSTEM

A fully thermally coupled distillation structure designed to overcome hydraulic limitations in the past has been revealed for separating a multi-component feed stream (11) into three product streams (12, 13, 14). The fractionation apparatus is equipped with at least one condenser (200) and one reboiler (100) to provide fractionation efficiency surpassing the PETLYUK system. Further, th e fractionation apparatus includes innovative designs to enable hydraulically balanced and energy efficient operation at various feed rates, compositions and product specifications.
