The hitch connecting the trap to the horse comprises two separate scissor bars (11), each of which is connected via an articulated bearing (17) to the steerable part (14) of the turntable (12) joining the front and rear bogies together. The two bars are joined together at the trap end via a rotary joint (20) which is connected to the rotary part of the turntable via a device that moves the bars alternately when the trap is taking a bend, so that the bar on the inside of the bend is pulled in and the bar on the outside of the bar is pushed out.
