PURPOSE: A battery for a notebook computer with a detachable CD-ROM drive is provided, which is mounted where the CD-ROM drive is mounted for using the space of a notebook computer effectively. CONSTITUTION: The battery(60) comprises a housing(61) which is formed with the same shape to that a CD-ROM drive; a battery cell(74) which is mounted within the housing; and a connector(68) which is connected with the battery cell electrically and is jointed to the power terminal of a notebook computer. The CD-ROM drive is provided with a body part, and an extension part which is extended from the side of the body part; the battery is provided with a body part(62) and an extension part(64) corresponding to those of the CD-ROM drive; and the body part(62) comprises a charge circuit (a charge circuit, 70) which is placed between the battery cell(74) and the connector(68) and joined to them, and charges the battery cell(74).
