A positive-displacement machine of gear type includes a gear ring, a driving gear, planet gears, main shaft, and end covers. An imaginary cylindrical surface, which consists of all the tooth top surfaces of the gear ring, includes concave, convex and flat which are connected smoothly and respectively arranged at an equal interval angle in the periphery. An imaginary cylindrical surface, which consists of all the tooth top surfaces of the driving gear, includes concave, convex and flat which are connected smoothly and respectively arranged at an equal interval angle in the periphery. The planet gears are arranged between the gear ring and the driving gear and engage with them respectively. With the rotation of the main shaft, the chambers enclosed by the gear ring, driving gear and planet gears are displaced around the main shaft. At the same time, the volume of each enclosed chamber varies with the change of the position relationship among the gear ring, driving gear and planet gears. The machine according to the invention is composed of simple component, manufactured easily, adapted to be manufactured in a common machining process, and can be used as a pump, motor and engine with the gas or liquid media.
