<p>A computer network arranged such that data transmitted by a server (2) via a communication channel (6) shared with a plurality of clients (4), in response to a data request originating from one of the clients (4), will be stored in a respective memory cache of each client (4), and such that each client (4) will request data from the server only if that data is not already stored in its respective memory cache. Thus, where a number of clients require the same data at approximately the same time, such as in a classroom scenario, the overall amount of data traffic in the network is substantially reduced.</p> |
