The sprinkler includes a flange-like base body (1) with connector to fluid pipe and a deflector with a row of openings for distributing the extinguishing fluid into the room and with a closure body comprising one at least dual-stage shut-off mechanism (15, 16, 20) for shutting off the outlet of fluid through an opening. The individual stages (I, II) of the shut-off mechanism are allotted monitoring sensors for monitoring the rooms and trigger elements for the separate and common ejection of the locking mechanism during individual stages. The shut off mechanism has inner and outer locking members whose outer locking member is held releasable in a cylindrical socket of the base member through a locking element (25) and whose inner locking member is held releasable on the outer locking member through a locking element (39).
