<p>A method for providing and using a three dimensional optical memory for computers. The three dimensional memory comprises a matrix of particles having a liquid core resin within an inner resin shell (12, 13, 14, 15 as shown in figure 4) surrounded by a non photosensitive outershell which forms a continuous phase between the particles. The particles have at least one photosensitive compound which may be photobleached completely (12) or partially (14) or left unbleached (13, 15). The extent of the photobleaching may be determined using fluorescence measurements as shown in figure 5. The photobleaching may be carried out using either one or two lasers using an apparatus as shown in figure 6.</p> |
