PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for obtaining a poultry meat, especially chicken, having a preferable improved color tone by the use of a food raw material without lowering the growth rate of the poultry. SOLUTION: This method for improving the color tone of the poultry meat, characterized by giving a feed containing Spirulina in an amount of 0.01 to 3.5 wt.% to poultry to breed the poultry. Thereby, the poultry meat having the preferable improved color tone, especially the poultry meat having an increased a* value of >=2.0, an increased b* of <=2.0 in the meat portion and having an increased a* value of <=2.0 and an increased b* value of <=2.0 in the fat portion in the L* a* b* color system by a diffused lighting vertical light-receiving method in comparison with those of a case that the Spirulina is not given can be created. |
