PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the generation of a ghost in letterpress printing. SOLUTION: In a letterpress printing machine in which ink is supplied to a printing plate 21 fitted to a plate cylinder 9 by a contact roller 7 which contacts an oscillating roller 5 and the plate cylinder 9, which are separated from each other, to follow them, the circumferential speed of the swing roller 5 is increased by a portion corresponding to the rotational delay d2 of the contact roller 7 as compared with the circumferential speed of the printing plate 21. For example, when a swing roller gear 13 for rotating the roller 5 is connected with a plate cylinder gear 15 for rotating the plate cylinder 9 through an idle gear 17, the member of teeth of the gear 13 is made smaller than that of the gear 15. |
