PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably suppress the generation of the septic odor and discoloration of rice during a heat retaining operation without a labor. SOLUTION: A burner 26 for lowering the concentration of oxygen in a rice cooking pot 1 is provided on a cover 7. Fuel to the burner 26 is supplied and/or interrupted by a control means 43 to control the combustion of the burner 26. The opening and closing state of the cover 7 is detected by a cover opening and closing detecting means 23. When it is detected that the cover 7 is closed again after the cover 7 is opened once during a heat retaining operation, the burner 26 consumes oxygen existing in the rice cooking pot 1 to burn the fuel. Thus, the concentration of oxygen in the rice cooking pot 1 is lowered, so that the propagation of bacteria as aerobe which cause the odor is suppressed. |
