PROCESS FOR REMOVING OILY COMPONENT IN WASTEWATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for efficiently removing oily components in wastewater. SOLUTION: This removal process comprises: successively adding an inorganic coagulant, protein and if desired, a surfactant and a pH-adjusting agent to wastewater containing oily components and mixing these agents with the wastewater to form oily component coagulation flocs; thereafter, introducing air bubbles in this wastewater to adsorb the flocs on the bubbles; and removing the resulting floated and accumulated floc adsorption foam on the water surface; wherein preferably, the bubbles are introduced by utilizing negative pressure caused by the rotation of an impeller and also, a flow straightening means for suppressing liquid flow due to the impeller is employed.
