PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uneven contact between an inner circumferential surface of a hole in a workpiece and an outer circumferential surface of a working tool by displacing a chuck body so as to follow up and eliminate misalignment when the misalignment has happened between the axis of the working tool and the axis of the workpiece due to holding inaccuracy, etc., of the working tool by a chuck, and thus to enhance the finished surface roughness of the inner circumferential surface of the hole in the workpiece and to improve the finishing accuracy of the workpiece. SOLUTION: This chuck device is equipped with the chuck body 10 capable of holding/releasing an outer circumferential surface of the cylindrical workpiece W and an axial displacement allowing mechanism 2 for allowing the chuck body to be displaced in all the directions of surfaces making a right angle with the axial direction L of the workpiece.
