PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a crosslinking agent for rubber having excellent property to prevent the reversion of vulcanization and various functions to improve the physical properties of vulcanized rubber. SOLUTION: The crosslinking agent contains two or more maleic acid ester structures in one molecule and is expressed by general formula (1) (R1 and R2 are each the same or different 1-18C alkyl; Y is a >=2C alkylene which may contain hetero-atom or interrupted with aromatic group or alicyclic hydrocarbon group; and (n) is an integer of 1-50).
