PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recording apparatus which can discharge ink to a correct arrival position even when a carriage is accelerated or decelerated. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recording apparatus has a carriage guide 4 installed to cross a printing sheet, a carriage 32 which reciprocates along the carriage guide 4 in relation to the sheet, a print head 31 which is mounted on the carriage 32 and fitted with a nozzle 33 for discharging ink, a position detecting means for detecting the position of the carriage 32, and a correction means for correcting the timing of discharging ink by a signal from the position detecting means.
