PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sanitary fishing rod capable of suppressing the propagation of bacteria which cause smell, for a long period, and hardly causing the smell even if water, fishing bait and dirt stick thereto. SOLUTION: This fishing rod is characterized in that the rod has a member body formed into a prescribed shape, and an antibacterial layer formed on the region of the member body, exposed to the external world, and containing an antibacterial material.
