[Also in Division F4] A double-walled structure for an enclosure having differing pressures within and without comprises two spaced metal sheets 1, 1' with connecting pieces 2, 2' secured perpendicular to each sheet and carrying sleeves 3, 3' such that the each bore of a sleeve of one sheet is aligned with the bore of a sleeve of the other sheet and a bore of another sleeve of the first sheet. A pin 4 passes through the bores of a number of sleeves 3, 3'. The connecting pieces 2, 2' and sleeves 3, 3' may be replaced by U-shaped members. The connecting pieces 2, 2' may be formed as plates extending across the full space between the sheets to divide this space into passages for coolant.</p> |
