PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an intermediate transfer recording medium comprising a powder layer capable of forming a sharp image on a transfer medium instantaneously, capable of transferring an image to a paper to be recorded without generating blur or strike-through and capable of forming a stable image for a long period of time, in high speed recording by a transfer ink jet recording method. SOLUTION: In the transfer ink jet recording method wherein a layer of a powder capable of dissolved or swollen by an ink drop, increasing the viscosity of the ink drop and peelable from an intermediate transfer medium is preformed on the intermediate transfer medium and an image is formed on the powder corresponding to an image signal by ink drops to be transferred to a medium to be recorded, the powder has ink absorbency and thickening propertiers and has almost no hygroscopicity and conductivity is imparted to the powder. |
