PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casing for a portable communication terminal such as for a portable telephone which can reduce the thickness of a major portion, increase the mounting capacity of electric and electronic components, simplify the steps and improve the accuracy of a finished surface by punching a fitting hole for a push-button, improve the bearing property with the push-button, and increase the size of a liquid crystal display portion such as a telephone number, pictures and letters. SOLUTION: The thickness of the major portion of the box can be reduced as thin as 0.2-1.5 mm by plastically forming, in particular, hot-forging or warm- forging a thin sheet stock of a magnesium alloy, and the casing of higher strength than that of a magnesium alloy casing formed by a conventional casting method is formed. The fitting hole of the push-button is punched, and the area of an engagement hole of the liquid crystal display is set to be >=35% of the projected area of the casing. |
