PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a high resolution and a high speed by improving an ink- discharging efficiency and eliminate an image quality defect of white spot by preventing nozzles and ink channels from being blocked by foreign matter and by stably discharging ink. SOLUTION: A plurality of grooves 46 and through holes 48 formed by the RIE method to an ink channel substrate 42 respectively become ink channels 50 and a common liquid chamber 56. A plurality of opening members 60 are formed between the grooves 46 and the through holes 48. An opening 62 of a smaller width W2 than a width W1 of the nozzle is formed between the opening members 60. Electro-thermal converters 68 are set to positions of an element substrate 44 corresponding to the grooves 46. A ratio of an ink flow rate towards the nozzle 54 to a total ink flow rate (a front and rear ratio term) is set to be 0.3-0.75.
