PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial seed having a high preservation stability, and rapidly germinating when seeded in a soil. SOLUTION: This artificial seed is composed of a seamless soft capsule having an adventitious embryo, an adventitious bud, a multiple shoot, a shoot apex, a growing point, a protocorm-like body, an adventitious root, a capillary root or the like included in the most inner layer, a hardened oil used as an inner coat layer for covering the most inner layer, and an outer layer constituted of a biodegradable outer cover layer made of a gelatin, a polysaccharide or the like.
