PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus such as a facsimile device capable of changing a recording level in response to the input operation from the outside when a color image is recorded. SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus is the facsimile device F equipped with a recording section 22 for recording a color image on a recording paper. The apparatus uses the recording level on the recording section 22 with respect to the recording paper as a control quantity and has a CPU 10 that controls the recording level based on variable setting information which can be changed from the outside.
