PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of reducing styrene oligomers such as a styrene dimer and a styrene trimer which are present in a polystyrene resin used as a food packaging material/container and have a possibility of migrating to the food from the container or the like and adversely affecting the human body as endocrine disrupting chemicals. SOLUTION: The method of reducing styrene oligomers in polystyrene comprises heating the polystyrene under reduced pressure.
