METHOD FOR PRODUCING L-PHENYLALANINE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a bacterium of the genus Methylophilus having improved productivity of L-phenylalanine and to provide a method for producing L- phenylalanine by using the bacterium. SOLUTION: A bacterium of the genus Methylophilus having L-phenylalanine productivity and resistance to phenylalanine analog is prepared. The bacterium is cultured in a medium, L-phenylalanine is formed and accumulated in the culture product and L-phenylalanine is collected from the culture product to produce L-phenylalanine.
