PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To record the information concerning the utilization state of a printer. SOLUTION: The print system comprises a printer to which an ink cartridge fixed with a storage element can be loaded, a communication control section 30, and a host having a printer driver 50. The printer driver 50 comprises a display control section 52 for displaying an interface screen having operation receiving sections and counting the number of operating times received at each operation receiving section and transmits the count through the communication control section 30. The print control section 61 of the printer comprises a storage element managing section 76 for receiving the count indicative of the number of operating times and updating the total number of operating times by adding the received count to the previous number of operating times stored in the storage element when an ink cartridge is loaded.
