PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording member enabling the high speed writing of an image without deteriorating the thermal wettability change function of a recording layer and being destructed by light. SOLUTION: The recording member has the recording layer 3 including a member, which has a property such that a retreat contact angle to a liquid is lowered upon the reception of heating in a state being in contact with the liquid, on its uppermost surface and an intermediate layer 2 containing a light absorbing material is provided between the substrate 1 and recording layer 3 of the recording member. The surface of the recording layer is heated at temperature almost same to that of the intermediate layer 2 in the case of a thickness of 0.5 μm but, as the recording layer becomes thicker, heat becomes hard to transmit to the surface of the recording layer and, in the case of a thickness of 2 μm or more, even if the temperature of the intermediate layer is 200 deg.C, the surface of the recording layer 3 is only heated to about 70 deg.C. In the case of heating of 200 deg.C, the intermediate layer 2 is in danger of thermal decomposition. The thermal wettability function of the recording layer is not deteriorated even in the case of a thickness of 0.02 μm but the thickness of the recording layer is desirably 0.1 μm or more in consideration of the strength of a film. |
