PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an excellently plasma adaptable titanium oxide used for efficiently adsorbing and eliminating bilirubin in plasma. SOLUTION: When this titanium oxide for adsorbing bilirubin in plasma is brought into contact with human fresh plasma, a partial thromboplastin time PTT, a prothrombin time PT, and a fibrin deposition amount Fib serving as the plasma coagulation factors are substantially equal to those of intact human fresh plasma. The titanium oxide for adsorbing bilirubin in plasma is provided with physical characteristics such as a specific surface of 20-80 m2/g, a mean pore diameter of 150-200 Å, and a pH of 6-7.5 and selectively adsorbs total bilirubin in plasma when it is brought into direct contact with the plasma. |
