PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screw fastening device capable of rotating a screw fastener fitted to the shape of the head part of a screw without causing any axial slippage. SOLUTION: This device comprises the screw fastener 7 formed cylindrically except the tip and a holder 6 for imparting a rotating force to the screw fastener 7. The housing 11 of the holder 6 comprises a screw fastener insert hole 15a for mounting the screw fastener 7, and the screw fastener insert hole 15a comprises a clutch mechanism 12 for transmitting the rotating force, a retaining member 13 consisting of a ring-like elastic body to conform the axial center of the screw fastener 7 to the axial center of the screw fastener insert hole 15a and retain the screw fastener 15a in the screw fastener insert hole 15a, and a bearing 14 are provided in the screw fastening tool insert hole 15a. The bearing 14 and the clutch mechanism 12 are allowed to abut along the circumference of the screw fastener 7 with a prescribed distance in the axial direction of the screw fastener 7, whereby the screw fastener 7 is rotated in the state where the radial movement is regulated.
