PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an artificial heart easily transplantable to the human body because of its small volume of a pump as a whole. SOLUTION: Inside a pump casing 1, a diaphragm 2 demarcating a pump chamber 10 connected to input and output ports Pa, Pb, a pressing plate 3 brought into plane contact with the diaphragm 2, a cam 4 pressing when the pressing plate 3 is turned, and a supporting shaft 5 rotating the cam 4 are arranged, while a motor M is arranged apart from the pump casing 1, and the supporting shaft 5 and an output shaft of the motor M are connected together via a torque transmittable control cable 6. Even when the pump casing 1 is installed to the human body separately from the motor M, the cam 4 can be rotated through a control cable 6 for driving the pump. The size of the artificial heart can be reduced because the motor M is not included in the pump casing 1, and the artificial heart can be easily transplanted into the human body.
