PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drum member for guiding a paper sheet in a rotary printing press capable of reducing bulk despite high bending strength and preventing air stagnation caused by guide surfaces and applied to a paper sheet. SOLUTION: The drum member 1 with two gripping claws 10 in a symmetric relation on the circumference has boxlike recessed portions 7 orthogonal to an axis of symmetry 11 passing the gripping claws 10. The recessed portions are operationally connected by through-holes 8 formed on the opposite right and left sides.
