<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of recycling a polystyrene from a foamed polysty rene, suppressing a heat history, consequently capable of obtaining a polystyrene having slight quality deterioration such as coloring, reduction in molecular weight, etc., having an excellent recycling efficiency in recycling a polystyrene from a foamed polystyrene. SOLUTION: This method of recycling the polystyrene from the famed polystyrene comprises dissolving the foamed polystyrene in a volume reduction agent of any compound selected from the group consisting of a water-soluble amide compound and a water-soluble lactone compound to give a solution, introducing the solution into a double-screw extruder having at least one vent hole, evaporating and separating the volume reduction agent by heating under reduced pressure, melting and extruding the polystyrene so as to recycle the polystyrene.</p> |
