PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve control quantity without imparting feeling of physical disorder to a driver, to reduce operation frequencies of a solenoid valve, to reduce operating sound and to improve durability by eliminating pressure reduction in process of pressure boosting of at least brake fluid, in a brake control device detecting a braking operation of the driver and executing a by-wire control for generating braking force according to the detection operation. SOLUTION: In the brake control device provided with a control means for executing the by-wire control to operate a fluid pressure regulating means so that actual pressure determined by an actual pressure detection means may coincide with target pressure calculated by a target pressure calculation means, the control means is constituted to determine target pressure gradients to be a rate of change of target pressure at the time of the by-wire control and to inhibit the fluid pressure regulating means from being a pressure reduction state when the target pressure gradients are prescribed ascending gradients or more.
