PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for replacing a mold, capable of achieving the stabilization of the temperature of a cooling medium, the reduction of the load of a cooling means and the shortening of the preparation time of the mold to enhance the productivity of a molded article and a mold apparatus. SOLUTION: A bypass passage for circulating the cooling medium through a mold temperature regulator 1 without passing the same through the mold 7 is formed between the connection points 26, 27 of a cooling medium passage for the mold and the region on the side of the mold 7 of the cooling medium passage for the mold through which no cooling medium passes is evacuated while the cooling medium is circulated through the bypass passage before the mold 7 connected to the cooling medium passage for the mold is replaced.
