PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a discriminating device capable of discriminating two kinds of objects respectively having different surface reflectivity at a low cost. SOLUTION: A pair of optical sensors 512, 518 are mounted on an upper part of photopolymer plates 102 and interleaves 118 alternately laminated. Though these optical sensors 512, 518 have fundamentally the same structure, the detection level of the optical sensor 518 is substantially lowered as the optical sensor 518 is inclined to an optical axis of the reflected light. Therefore, the optical sensors 512, 518 are turned ON by the reflection light from the photopolymer plates 102, and the optical sensor 518 is turned OFF by the reflection light from the interleaves 118. Thus, the photopolymer plates 102 and the interleaves 118 can be discriminated from each other. A this discriminating device 510 uses the general optical sensors turned ON by the light of above predetermined intensity, the cost can be reduced.
