PURPOSE: Provided is a mixed whitening composition comprising the extract of ZGymnema Sylverstre leaves which shows superior whitening effect than that of conventional whitening ingredients. CONSTITUTION: The mixed whitening composition comprises the extract of ZGymnema Sylverstre leaves as a major ingredient and albutin or kojic acid as a minor ingredient. The whitening composition can be applied to various types of toning lotion(skin lotion), nutrient lotion, nutrient cream, massage cream, essence oil or pack. The ZGymnema Sylverstre extract can be liquid or gel type depending on the extraction method of ZGymnema Sylverstre leaves. The extraction method comprises the steps of extracting one or more times ZGymnema Sylverstre leaves using at least a solvent selected from polar solvents such as water, a hydrous or anhydrous lower alcohol of C1 to C4, ethyl acetate and acetone; and drying under reduced pressure. Preferably, the extracting solvent is acetone or methanol.
