PURPOSE:To provide a device capable of mechanically measuring the viscosity of muddy water to be circulated and readjusted and automatically adjusting the viscosity of muddy water on the basis of the measured result. CONSTITUTION:In a device for adjusting the viscosity of muddy water, a viscosity measuring device 11 equipped with a preparation tank 2 storing prepared muddy water, a muddy water tank 3 (water storage tank) storing high viscosity muddy water or fresh water and an excessive muddy water tank 4 and measuring the viscosity of the muddy water in the preparation tank and a level detector 12 detecting the water level of muddy water are provided. A pump controller 29 operating or stopping pumps 11, 16 so as to discharge the muddy water of the preparation tank or to add high viscosity muddy water or fresh water from the muddy water storage tank to the preparation tank on the basis of the measured values of the viscosity measuring device and the level detector is provided. |
