PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method which reliably removes an unnecessary coating film sticking to the substrate of an electrophotographic photoreceptor in a short time, does not cause environmental problem, etc., and prevents the photoreceptor from causing trouble such as the curling-up of a cleaning blade in copying and to provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor, a method for producing the photoreceptor and a step for removing the unnecessary part of a coating film. SOLUTION: The method for producing an electrophotographic photoreceptor has a step for removing the unnecessary part of a coarting film formed on the substrate of an electrophotographic photoreceptor and fine particles have been fixed on the surface of a removing member brought into contact with the substrate.
