PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a voice synthesizer which is capable of generating synthesized voice having a variety of prosodical characteristics by text voice synthesis. SOLUTION: A text analysis section 10 conducts a morpheme analysis and a sentence structure analysis for an input text 102 to generate language information 104 (for example, necessary information required for the generation of synthesis parameters such as information on voice symbol trains corresponding to the reading of an input text and on an accent phrase that becomes the unit of cadence control, location o f accents and parts of speech). A synthesis parameter generating section 20 refers to a plurality of cadence control dictionaries 24 to 26 in accordance with the information 104 and generates respectively corresponding synthesis parameters 204 to 206. A synthesis parameter interpolation section 22 conducts interpolation process for cadence parameters of the plural synthesis parameters 204 to 206 in accordance with weighting information 201 to generate synthesis parameters 207. A voice synthesis section 13 generates voice information 108 in accordance with the phoneme information and the cadence information specified by the parameters 207.
