摘要 PURPOSE: A reciprocating engine is provided to enhance engine efficiency by increasing a discharge amount during the sudden acceleration of a vehicle or in case of an uphill road, to enhance combustion efficiency by freely adjusting and increasing a compression ratio as much as possible, to suck large quantity of air by extending a stroke distance during a high speed traveling, to equalize a mixing density with air and fuel by generating negative pressure for an intake port with the alternatively eccentricity of a main bearing journal and a crank pin, and to make a metal bearing stably eccentric by mechanically rotating the eccentric metal bearing. CONSTITUTION: A reciprocating engine of an internal combustion engine makes a main bearing journal(30) outwardly eccentric to a metal bearing(14) and makes a crank pin inwardly eccentric to the metal bearing at once for maximally increasing a discharge amount and a compression ratio. At that time, the eccentric amounts of the main bearing journal and the crank pin are same. The reciprocating engine consists of; a shaft(40) penetrated through the lower oil pan of the main bearing journal with worms(42) as many as the number of connecting rods(3); the metal bearing of the main bearing journal, combined with a worm gear(44) engaged with the worm and with a guide ring(46) having a guide(50); and a variable rod(56) containing a rotating piece(52) rotated along the guide according to the rotation of a crankshaft(1) and a rack engaged with a helical gear(48).
