摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a copper based sliding material capable of providing favorable seizure resistance without including lead and superior in fatigue resistance. SOLUTION: This copper based sliding material is provided with a mixed texture of hard copper alloy and soft copper alloy phases. In such a case, in a surface of the sliding material, the soft copper alloy phases are recessed more than the hard copper alloy phases by receiving a load or sliding abrasion and lubricating oil can be held in these recessed portions for improving seizure resistance. The hard portions and the soft portions have favorable wettability because they are of the same copper alloy phase and nickel or the like of the hard copper alloy phases diffuse into the soft copper alloy phases, and so hardness of their boundary portions gradually change. Because of this, boundaries between both become indefinite and a load received by the hard phases is distributed, and so fatigue resistance is improved.
