PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To carry out determination of a sort of pollen that is impossible in a conventional method. SOLUTION: In a pollen detector capable of determining a sort of pollen from a light receiving characteristic of a light receiving element 7, excitation light is radiated from a light source 8 radiating excitation light to pollen sucked into the inside of a pipe part 9 by means of a suction part 5, and fluorescence generated from the pollen is received by means of the light receiving element 7 for determining the sort of the pollen.
