A method for utilizing Internet email facilitates collaboration among members of a group in which the group is addressable via email. Email messages and file attachments sent to the group address are archieved and automatically organized into folders using Natural Language Processing and user defined rules. The attachments are extracted and stored as separate files. Certain attachment types, such as vCards, trigger system actions, such as the creation of an address book contact. In addition, the content of certain messages can trigger actions, such as the scheduling of an event or the retrieval of a file.
