KNOCK DETECTING METHOD OF INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE BY ION CURRENT

PURPOSE: To solve a problem that the reference level to judge generation of a knock for each operational condition must be learned, and control is complicated when the knock component superposed on the ion current is detected using the ion current and generation of any knock is detected from the detected knock component. CONSTITUTION: In the knock control method of an internal combustion engine to detect generation of any knock by detecting the ion current flowing in a cylinder from the start of combustion, and judging the knock component superposed on the ion current based on the judgment level, the peak value of the ion current is detected, at least either of the judgment level or the knock component is relatively corrected based on the detected peak value, and generation of any knock is made hard to be judged as the detected peak value becomes larger.
