PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmission device, capable of keeping confidentiality of data when transferring the data received at a memory box. SOLUTION: In the transmission device, for transferring the data received at the memory box which is specified by a sub address/password signal, a password is added to the data according to the method of response to a transfer destination (an electronic mail terminal or a facsimile machine) so as to carry gut the transmission of the data.
