PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic-burning burner for arc furnaces that can use (waste) plastic with an economical size of approximately several mm-several tens of mm, and at the same time can effectively utilize heat obtained by burning the plastic in the arc furnace to dissolve scrap. SOLUTION: The plastic-burning burner is provided with a channel for blowing plastic into an arc furnace by carrying the plastic with gas such as air, a burning burner having an oxygen channel for blowing oxygen into the arc furnace, and a combustion cylinder between the tip of the burner and a furnace wall. The plastic-burning burner is also provided with a function for moving a burner body back and forth in the combustion cylinder.
