PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily erase a menu screen at a required time. SOLUTION: In a shutter key 10 provided in the casing of the recorder, a half depression detection switch 11 to detect a state that a shutter key 10 provided in the housing of a device is depressed to the middle of a push-in distance, what is called a half depressed state and a deep depression detection switch 12 to detect the state that the shutter key 10 is completely pushed in are provided. Thus, the state of the shutter key a user 10 pushed by is detected by the switches 11 and 12, and the signals of instruction operation corresponding to the states of half depression and deep depression from the switches 11 and 12 are supplied to a system controller 13, respectively. Then, control to record an image in the state that the shutter key 10 is deeply depressed is performed, and also control to erase the menu picture in the state that the shutter key 10 is half depressed is performed by the system controller 13.
